Customers have been heading to the Castle Dene Shopping Centre to collect necessities and access bank branches and more, but the cafes and other stores remain closed as the Government tries to limit people’s movements to try and prevent the spread of coronavirus.
We visited the East Durham town earlier today to take a look at how quiet is now is under the lockdown.
1. Is Peterlee Asda open?
One of the busiest places in town usually, the store has been working hard to keep people stocked up, with new opening times - 8am to 8pm except on Sunday when it's open from 10am to 4pm - and social distancing rules being followed. Photo: Frank Reid
2. NHS continues to carry on
Praise be for our NHS. Peterlee Community Hospital, in O'Neill Drive, is run by North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and runs outpatient clinics including pain clinics, rheumatology, orthopaedics and physiotherapy. Photo: Frank Reid
3. Landmark building
