Community sends messages of love to 'amazing' Hartlepool schoolgirl who defied the odds

The 11-year-old schoolgirl, who has overcome a series of health problems in short life, was not expected to live for more than a few days.
But more than a decade on, Talia has begun school, is “loving” the new experience and is continuing to laugh and smile her way through each day.

And now, members of the Hartlepool community have shared their own messages of support and pride at how much Talia has grown, and everything she has faced in her short life.
In the new year, the 11-year-old is expected to undergo major surgery due to her scoliosis.
But until then, she will continue being her “happy” and “giggly” self, enjoying her new routine as a Catcote Academy pupil.
