and live on Freeview channel 276
This year’s Great North Run – due to be the 40th staging of the famous race – has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with a virtual running challenge taking its place.
But those already signed up to take part in the 2020 race were invited by organisers to roll their place over free of charge for next year’s half marathon, or collect a refund.

Organisers Great Run issued a social media reminder on Wednesday, July 29 for runners wishing to carry over their place.
A form is available for participants to complete on the Great Run website here. Once filled in, a ballot or member runner’s place will be secure for next year.
Great Run said: “There is nothing further to pay and no ballot to enter – you will have secured your entry.”
