Hartlepool United promotion hero Luke Armstrong joins League Two rivals Harrogate Town
The 24-year-old moved to Pools on loan from Salford in December 2020 and went on to fire Dave Challinor’s side to National League promotion with 15 goals in 32 appearances.
Challinor was keen to bring Armstrong back to Victoria Park, however, the striker’s only return next season will be as an opposition player.

“Speaking to the manager, he has massive ambitions and it’s a real family club which will be perfect for me to get my career going again.”
“It’s a club which has players dying to play for the badge, works hard for each other and as a team, in every league they’ve come in, clubs have had a bit of fear against them and they know they’ll be in for a tough game.”
The North Yorkshire club say Armstrong will officially join on July 1 and wear the number 29 shirt.

Mark Shelton and Timi Odusina also have extension options which the club are looking to trigger ahead of confirming their retained list this weekend.
