Hide AdDRWF Event Coordinator Lee Calladine said: “We are looking forward to returning to Hartlepool, this will be the seventh year we have run the Diabetes Wellness Day and we are so pleased to have received national recognition of the work we do.
“It is so important for people to have a thorough understanding of their diabetes, so they can learn to self-manage their own condition and hopefully avoid the debilitating long-term complications that can come about.”
DRWF’s Diabetes Wellness Day at the Hartlepool Maritime Experience on Saturday, November 5, is supported by the specialist diabetes teams from North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, the University Hospital of Hartlepool and Hartlepool Borough Council Health Trainer Service who provide talks and presentations about living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
It runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm, it costs £5 to attend and includes refreshments and lunch.
