Boris Johnson set out a plan to ease lockdown restrictions during a Downing Street briefing on Monday, which aims to bring all restrictions to an end in England by June 21.
Under the plans, large-scale sporting events or performances will be allowed from May 17, giving Great North Run organisers confidence that the event will be able to go ahead this year.
