Sunderland and Middlesbrough paid tribute to Ali Brownlee tonight.
The two sets of players and staff observed a minute’s silence before tonight’s Under-21 game at the Stadium of Light.

Hide AdAli, 56, was known as the “Voice of the Boro” after commentating on his beloved Middlesbrough FC for more than 30 years, as well as hosting the BBC Tees breakfast show.
He died at his home in Middlesbrough on Sunday night surrounded by family.
