Saturday, July 4 will mark the reopening of several key areas of the hospitality sector including pubs, restaurants and cinemas, which have been closed since lockdown began in March.
It is the most significant easing of lockdown and social distancing measures to date but ‘unsettled’ weather conditions could deter some from venturing out.

Hide AdAccording to Met Office forecasters, the North East is set for an ‘unsettled but humid weekend with strong winds, spells of occasionally heavy rain and some brightness’.
Friday
There will be late rain on Friday morning, with weather turning cloudy before noon.
The cloudy weather will remain throughout the afternoon, where highs of 17°C are expected.
The rain could return in the evening with a 50% chance of precipitation from 8pm.

Hide AdWind gusts will reach 36mph in the afternoon with medium levels of pollen.
Saturday
Saturday’s forecast is cloudy, with a 40% chance of light rain around lunchtime.
There will be sunny intervals and mild highs of 19°C in the afternoon, which will remain consistent into the early evening.
Wind gusts of up to 29mph are expected along with high levels of pollen.

There will be sunny intervals throughout the morning and early afternoon, which will then change into light showers.
Strong gusts of up to 35mph have been forecast with pollen levels becoming milder.
