10 things we learned after Pools ended their season on a positive note following a 4-3 win over Dorking:
5. The squad are set for discussions over their futures this week

6. Sweeney brands decision to scrap FA Cup replays as "totally negative"
Assistant head coach Antony Sweeney branded the controversial decision to scrap FA Cup replays as "totally negative" and "wrong", saying it denied clubs lower down the football pyramid the chance to earn important money. Photo: FRANK REID
7. Sweeney thinks Pools need more legs in midfield
Pools were overrun in midfield at times on Saturday and Sweeney, who was speaking to the press in place of Kevin Phillips after the Pools boss had to drop Lennie Lawrence at the train station, thinks his side need to recruit more running power in the engine room this summer. Photo: Frank Reid
8. Pools need quality as well as quantity
After Campbell Darcy, who turned 18 on Saturday, was ruled out of the trip to Dorking and Chay Cooper was recalled from his loan spell by Colchester, Pools were only able to field four substitutes at the weekend, including goalkeeper Joel Dixon, out of favour Kwaku Oduroh and two teenagers. Although Phillips is set to be bolstered by the return of some injury absentees next term, notably Dan Dodds, Anthony Mancini and Josh Umerah, Pools will need to add quantity as well as quality this summer to ensure they have more strength-in-depth when the National League returns in August.
