Hartlepool United's squad evaluated and assessed:
![Had an indifferent first season in the North East after signing a two year deal from Dagenham and Redbridge and was transfer listed in April. Arrived with a reputation for making mistakes and lived up to it, although he did also produce a handful of impressive performances. Probably wasn't helped by being tasked with being the leader in the back three, a task for which he was ill-suited, and his stock has dropped considerably since the arrivals of Parkes and Waterfall, with the pair providing the experience and assuredness Pools lacked for much of the campaign. Made 30 league starts and four substitute appearances and filled in, unspectacularly, at right-back under Kevin Phillips. A return south, either on loan or for a small fee, could be on the cards if Pools are keen to bring in another central-defender without Onariase's penchant for errors.](https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOjBlMjE0Nzc2LWQ1NmQtNDAwYS04MWNmLWYwNTMwMTBkYzhmNDo5ZGU2MjM5Yi0yODQ3LTQ3N2EtOTI2OS05OWQ0OGJmMjhkODE=.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=640)

![Closing in on 200 Pools appearances and set for a fifth season at the Suit Direct. One of the last surviving members of the squad that won promotion out of the National League in 2021, when he was named in the team of the season. Endured an indifferent campaign last term, probably his worst in a Pools shirt, but is a player Sarll clearly values - the new boss even tried to sign him when he was in charge of Stevenage.](https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOmU0ODI5ZGIzLWY5NzYtNDZmOC05M2RjLTI0MmY1NzI3NjM1MDo2ZjdjNTcyNS0yN2I2LTQwMmUtOTkyYS05ZTYwNmI4ZTI5NDQ=.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=640)

![Didn't make as much of an impact as he might have liked in his first season at Pools after signing from National League North outfit Scarborough, playing just six times. Had a successful loan spell at local rivals Darlington followed by a less productive one at Chester, where he was sent off on his debut. His versatility could make him an asset and he could be deployed at left-back, centre-half and even in midfield.](https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOjI4NjRmZmQyLTRjMjgtNGVlNy04MjMyLWM0NjUzOTM4MzcyNToyM2M0ODc0My0yOGVjLTQzMDktYWNjMC01YmQ1MDZlNmQxZWY=.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=640)

![Set to make his long-awaited return from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that, come August 10th, will have kept him out of competitive action for almost a year. His speed has the potential to prove pivotal both in an attacking and defensive sense - going forward, he could form a productive partnership with Joe Grey while, defensively, he will add some much-needed pace to a back line that is not otherwise blessed with it. It's important not to rush his return, especially with teenagers Louis Stephenson and Campbell Darcy more than capable deputies, but he could have a big role to play next season.](https://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOjg2ZGRkODI5LWRiOTAtNDA5MS1hZjFiLWZjZGVhYzA0YWUxMDpmNjE2OGY3YS1hOTZkLTRlM2YtYWM5NC0zNWFjZmQzODg1ZmY=.jpg?crop=3:2&trim=&width=640)
